Day 1 of Official Diet Protocol
Yay! Finally I was successful in getting Maya to swallow her 1/4 teaspoon of fermented cod liver oil/high vitamin butter oil blend. For a couple of days now, she has been spitting it back out and refusing to even open her mouth for it. After reading on a couple of blogs for ideas, I finally settled on hiding it in no sugar added applesauce. She downed it without even noticing. LOL! Phew!

This morning my girls were hungry for a snack, so I cut up a granny smith apple and put in a baggie for them to nosh on while my mom and I were doing our walking/exercising. Then when we got home, I whipped up a quick batch of almond flour pancakes and topped them with applesauce and fresh berries. Again, they went down without a problem.

For lunch today, I'm going to use the left-over pancakes (which I made really thin) to make grilled cheese sandwiches for the girls. I bought nitrate-free turkey breast and grass-fed cheese, but Noodle was upset that she couldn't eat bread. This morning, when I made the pancakes, my mom was like, "Hey! You can use these for bread." Yay!

So far, day one of this journey has been fairly easy. Let's see how it goes when my girls see their cousins downing chips and sugary fruits. Then they might have issues.
